About Pedro (Tony) Alvarez

With over 40 years of experience, Tony has represented clients in a wide-range of private corporate, business and finance matters including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and other corporate transactions, both in the cross-border and domestic spaces. He has significant experience in financing transactions, restructurings and private capital market matters, as well as governance matters.

Tony is a retired partner of White & Case LLP and Alvarez & Diaz-Silveira LLP. He has extensive experience representing family offices, high-net worth individuals and family groups in a variety of business and governance matters and in assissting foreign law firms in connection with U.S. related matters. He also has regularly worked with U.S. law firms in connection with matters related to Latin America.

Prior to founding Alvarez & Diaz-Silveira LLP in 2012, Tony practiced as a partner at White & Case LLP, a global firm, for over two decades where he focused on corporate and finance matters. He assisted in establishing the firm’s office in Mexico City, where he practiced for five years and was actively engaged in the firm’s practice in Latin America and the Caribbean including m&a, joint ventures, and capital markets transactions.
